Boom character
ATEC 28 replaces the XA model and is a reliable choice for windsurfers of all levels. It combines affordability, durability, and comfort while incorporating several high-performance elements from premium boom lines. It performs especially well with larger freeride and freemove sails, where stiffness and stability are essential.
Construction and materials
The monocoque aluminium structure increases stiffness compared to standard aluminium booms. The 28 mm diameter offers a firm, secure grip, and the additional wall thickness in the largest 170–220 size enhances strength under heavy load. The boom remains resistant to torsional forces and designed for long-term use.
Front-end system and power transfer
The VT Joint and V-Shape mast cup increase the mast contact area, reducing play and improving load transmission. The interface works reliably with SDM masts, and with the included RDM shim it adapts securely to RDM setups too.
Adjustment and ergonomics
The optimized cleat angle makes outhaul adjustment easier and prevents the rope from loosening unintentionally. The trim-pin tail system allows fast length tuning and ensures a stiff, dependable connection between tail and boom body. The integrated boom lever enhances comfort during rigging and on-water adjustments.
