Character and purpose
The FireFly Pro SL is engineered specifically for lightwind performance and featherweight control. Available in the three largest sizes, it uses the same aerodynamic profile as the FireFly Pro but in a significantly lighter build. The reduced mass, improved stiffness and ultra-responsive pumping make it ideal for earliest takeoff and long glide phases.
Construction and materials
The leading edge is built from AeroTex — a UHMWPE composite with an Aramid X-Ply core and a protective film layer — allowing a reduced tube diameter while maintaining high stiffness and durability. Selected areas such as the wingtips feature AeroTex Light, about 10% lighter than standard AeroTex, which reduces swing weight and improves balance. The canopy uses 5x5 and 6x6 Ripstop for shape stability, while the HD Poly X-Ply windows offer lightweight visibility and reliable structural integrity.
Performance on the water
The SL model accelerates quickly from the first pump, generating immediate lift even in marginal wind. Its ultralight construction helps maintain speed and extend glide between pumps. The high-tension canopy increases low-end efficiency and keeps the wing stable at higher angles of attack. Integrated battens support a clean trailing edge and reduce flutter across the wind range.
Ergonomics and equipment
Equipped with Carbon Duo Handles, the wing offers a precise, lightweight grip with two handling points. The Backpack XL fits the wing with both handles attached and provides mounting options for a pump, helmet and small accessories. Pump adapter and bladder repair kit are included. Leash sold separately.
