Character and purpose
RS:Flight EVO VII is a pure foil race sail built to maximize lift, speed and stability under high apparent wind conditions. The refined high-aspect outline allows the sail to generate exceptional drive and maintain clean, efficient airflow throughout the entire profile. Every detail is designed to enhance competitive foil racing, from acceleration to upwind and downwind angles.
Construction and on-water behaviour
A tighter leech improves aerodynamic efficiency and reduces excess leech movement as foil speeds increase. The widened double-surface luff improves airflow and significantly increases profile stability. The quadruple luff construction minimizes stretch and enables the use of extreme downhaul tensions, keeping the profile locked and consistent even in the strongest gusts.
The front of the upper luff sleeve is reinforced with strong rip-stop Dacron and Taffeta for improved tear resistance and load control. Lite Skin Aramid in the clew adds abrasion resistance and reduces overall weight. All battens are full carbon tubes, providing increased stiffness, reduced inertia and superior profile stability.
Stability and control
Airflow tubular carbon battens are positioned according to the natural sailing rake of the sail, optimizing laminar airflow, facilitating smoother rotation and sharpening acceleration. Carbon leading edge ribs stabilize the upper sleeve where no cambers are used, maintaining a clean, drag-efficient profile through extreme angles of attack.
Racing dynamics
The high aspect design maximizes lift in gusts and improves both upwind and downwind performance. RS:Flight EVO VII maintains exceptional composure during hard acceleration, rapid course changes and high-speed foiling, making it one of the most advanced foil racing sails available.
