Character and purpose
Ryde has long been the go-to freeride sail in the NeilPryde range. It combines simplicity with quick speed, a clean profile and highly predictable handling, making it ideal for progressing riders as well as experienced sailors who want a lightweight, user-friendly sail. For 2026, Ultra PE X-Ply has been added to the foot and clew panels to increase durability while reducing weight.
Construction and on-water behaviour
Internally printed laminated panels increase durability while keeping the sail light and reactive. Tubular battens provide stability, and Taffeta in the luff and clew areas spreads loads and enhances tear resistance. Ryde delivers a smooth, predictable power curve, easy acceleration and a wider wind range than the Fusion.
Ease of use
Ryde is built to make jibes, waterstarts and flat water blasting as easy and intuitive as possible. Neutral pressure in both hands reduces fatigue and helps riders focus on technique rather than sail management. It is the perfect platform for progressing confidently through freeride skills.
Fin or foil compatibility
Equally comfortable on fin or foil, Ryde maintains a clean profile and balanced power delivery. It pairs well with any freeride-oriented board, from Freestyle Wave shapes to high-speed Super Sport models.
6 batten layout
Six battens ensure a stable, comfortable structure with excellent control in medium to strong winds, particularly with medium to high downhaul tension.
